Qualifications: B.A. Music Berklee College of Music- Film Scoring Major emphasis on French Horn
Teacher and Brass Coach at Millikan Performing Arts Middle School, Sherman Oaks, California
Playing Experience Born in Chicago, IL, I began to perform and write music by the age of 11. After studying the French horn for four years under Melanie Cottle of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, my love of music and composition took me to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied film scoring and French horn under Marshall Sealy. As a student I had the honor of performing with Michael Kamen, Steve Smith, Neil Stubenhaus, and J.J. Johnson.
Teaching Experience: Boston, Private Lessons 1995 - 2000
Brass Coach, Millikan Performing Arts Middle School, Sherman Oaks, CA 2005 - Present
Los Angeles, Private Lessons 2005 - Present
Notes: My lesson curriculum is based on the concept that all good brass players need to develop stamina and accuracy through consistent warm up and etudes. Each week students will be assigned etudes and scales as well as continued work on a solo. Any questions or concerns on pieces students are having trouble with at school can be brought to lessons as well. Older students may also work on transposition and ear training.

As a break from scales, etudes, and classical solos, I encourage my students to play popular songs that are of interest to them. I have also worked with students on playing big band music and jazz standards.
