Other Details This horn is what i have been told to be a Holton that has been customized quite a bit. i am not sure of the make of the horn so i apologize. The Lacquer has been removed by the C.G. Elkhart factory from the bell and parts of the original horn. Before i owned the horn it was customized in two major ways that are quite typical for this style wrap. To start, the Bell flare was swapped out for a solid nickel-silver bell with no lacquer. The Bore for the bell flare is XL giving it a very velvety sound and feel for all notes. Even when you play a minor second with a friend it still sounds amazingly smooth and clean. The bell flare was chosen for its very dark qualities, round tone, and warm sound. This bell flare is much larger then even my Private teacher is used to. He tried it out and said that its sound was very amazing and that the price i paid for it was a "steal". Then my teacher at college Tried it out and said that it has a very large bore. I love this horn and the bore isn't the reason that i am selling the horn. The second customization was the lead-pipe. The lead-pipe was swapped out for a Lawson lead-pipe. The Number on the lead-pipe is "FB110." This lead pipe was a great customization to be added to the horn allowing an even more free blowing experience. There are some minor dents on the bell flare. Typical of being a used horn. There are some spots that the hand contacts the horn that have wearing down of the lacquer which is typical of every used horn. The lacquer has started to have been removed from the rest of the horn but it is not hurting the sound in a bad way. The horn was professionally cleaned; every slide greased with Selmer tuning slide grease (the red stuff); all rotors were taken out and cleaned completely then re-oiled with Al Cass Valve oil; the rotor strings are brand new and have not been used with playing other than a test play by me to make sure that everything is in working order; The rubber pads are brand new and were cut to the appropriate length that works best with these rotors. I am selling this horn because i have outgrown it. If i could keep this horn i would love to but i want to keep improving my playing ability and need a different horn. I am sad to see it go because it is a horn that i have really bonded with. From the first moment i played it i loved the sound, ease of play, and the amazing lack of resistance. Extras included in the asking price? The Hand guard is brand new and was custom fit to the horn. It is retailed at $15 for FREE!!! I am also giving a Newly used mouthpiece. It is a Vincent Bach No. 7. It has some minor wear and tear on the mouthpiece but is a standard for a lot of players. It is retailed at about $20 since it is used for FREE!!! I am also throwing in a free Pro-Tec French Horn Case. The case is only 1 year old so it has the typical small scratches and such. The case has a small insert for a small tuner next to the bell. A straight mute can fit inside the bell and a stop mute can fit next to the bell while the horn is in the case. It still protects the horn perfectly and is very reliable. It is retail at $148.95 for FREE!!! NOTE: TUNER, STRAIGHT MUTE, AND STOPPED MUTE ARE NOT INCLUDED
